Why would that give critics of the exterior second thoughts?
It's like saying I'm a gorgeous hunk as long as I turn the lights off so you can't see me - or I put on a mask. That's not really a compliment.
Videotron's siding still looks dated - no amount of darkness or fancy lights will change that.

I actually like the exterior cladding; that gives the stadium some texture.

Regina's stadium is shaping up to be good, but anyone who suggests that it exists on some totally different plane of being than IGF is a delusional homer.

Videotron centre looks great at night. Loving the lights.

I was critical of the exterior at first but its growing on me. At least its unique and different, and i like the lighting.

Its given me second thoughts. The poster said it "MAY" give critics second thoughts. Nothing wrong with that statement. Everyone has different opinions.

Well, yeah... I am not sure why anyone would want to build something lame over something spectacular. I would guess maybe they are not purposely going out to attempt to build something lame, I might be wrong on that one though.

But I agree with you, spectacular > lame. Good call.

I can't agree more with you esquire. I love IGF the only thing I don't love about it is the siding used on the inside over a brick or something.I questioned how much of a gap in quality there would be between the 2 and people actually got upset basicly topre apart IGF and the builders and praised how great a yet to be built Stadium was in comparison. I wish sask would have went with what is on the backboard of the IGF sign in the pic you posted. A smooth wider cladding over an dull industrial powder coated siding. Apparently I'm the only one

Come to the stadium and catch up on the b***h fight. Migs VS Oil. My money's on Migs.

Mosaic will do Regina proud, no matter what finish is applied.

I think I know where the inspiration for this comes from...

I liked the exterior of the Videotron Centre before and I like it even more now with that exterior lighting. It will look very cool on Hockey Night in Canada!

I agree I actually think IGF is beautiful on the outside. Where cheap cladding stands out is around the jumbotrons and in the concourses, especially the upper deck ones. I don't know if anyone's noticed, but after FIFA they actually redid all the walls around the concessions at IGF with a bigger, flatter panel and nicer graphics to distract from the other places of siding. Even some blue/gold siding would've made a big difference.

I like IGF for the most part, honestly my biggest beef with it aesthetically actually is the wrap around the field... it's SO DULL. A solid colour with some Bomber and Bison logos erratically placed around it, and cut off. It looks terrible.

I also think the bombers should go back to the bright blue and gold from the 80s, that's another story but I think the colours would look better on IGF. It's bizarre because all the new bars and areas they're adding use those old colours... maybe a hint?

I agree. They did a lousy job with that. It's like someone decided a week before the first season started that a wrap would be a good idea, so one was slapped together as a rush job and has remained there ever since. It was excusable for the first year but it's time to improve on it.

If you notice in the second deck, they've placed a blue wrap on the railing that separates the upper part from the lower part... FIFA had the idea first and the WFC swapped it out with a blue one after the WWC ended. It looks much better. I get that the on-field wrap has to be gold to mesh with the Bisons' colours, but they could still do a much better job. I guess the silver lining is that it's relatively easily fixed, if anyone ever gets around to doing it.

And much of the same will be on his plate for 2016, the Jays’ 40th anniversary season, with $250-$400 million Cdn budgeted for upgrades.

The monies are earmarked for roof improvement, suites upgrades, fixing the exterior of Rogers Centre, exploring the ability to have real grass grow inside the dome, concourse improvements, new seats, renovating the now-dormant Hard Rock Cafe, and erecting a statue of Jays Hall of Famer Robbie Alomar outside the building.

soooo is it $250 million or $400 million? why such a large gap between estimates?

that $150 million swing could make a world of difference in the renos

I believe that extra $150M is contingent on how much they decide to spend on Alomar's statue........

It's hard to imagine spending 400m to upgrade Skydome when it costs 411m (2015 dollars) for Comerica Park.
