"DBJ interview: Mayor Michael Hancock lays out plans for his second term"
Jul 20, 2015 by Cathy Proctor Reporter Denver Business Journal
Mostly standard stuff but a couple of things...
Quote:
“We’re creating a destination for western heritage and convention overflow and mid-market arena shows,” Hancock said, emphasizing that extending the two taxes would “not be a burden on our people.”
I wondered if they were thinking of utilizing the new faciliti4es for additional convention/meeting options. I could see certain groups not even aware that might be interested in this option. One more tool in the toolbox.
Quote:
“You have to make those infrastructure improvements to attract businesses and attract investment,” he said, adding that the city has already heard from private companies interested in creating a public-private partnership with the city to work on the stock show site.
