i wonder if they want lrt just because broadway was used by trams at one time. maybe that's all there is to it and that's why they're selectively quoting their stats. i just read that sarkozy is committing 35 billion euros for transport in paris, including an "automatic" metro line. will have to look into it more closely to see if it's like skytrain.
