Though I have no pictures of the construction, the LRT construction through the entire Yuen Long main road of Hong Kong, happened just more than 20 years ago, has forever changed the historic corridor.
Yuen Long main road is exactly an artery road through that particular region.
After construction, 6-lane Yuen Long main road has become mostly 4-lane, pedestrian sidewalk were narrowed. Another funny fact is LRT is the only mode of rail transit that is losing money each year in Hong kong, even with its 350,000 ridership everyday
