It sounds to me like the Gables wants to kill the goose that lays the golden egg with this project. If Austin looses more of the smaller buildings to high rises, downtown will not be nearly as fun or as cool as it is now.

I HATE it that Gables has that property. They build suburban apt crap. (oh, IMHO). I am not surprised at all that company would build bland and have little concern for where they are building. And the worse part is.... people will rent it. Be Brave... write the company.
