The other half was him going on and on about the carbon tax. Like someone has to get through to him that it's over, it's time to drop it. I'm starting to take it personally that he thinks that people like myself would buy into the "he's lying, trust me bro" approach here.
I think Pierre has one final shot to turn things around, but it's a bit of a hail mary. The more that Carney speaks and interacts with the media, it's clearly evident that he kind of sucks at it, and has a very short trigger. Dude was an absolute dick to Rosemary Barton today. There's something about this blind trust thing that clearly annoys Mark. Pierre would be smart to try and exploit this during a debate to see if he can get Mark to crack. I'm aware that Pierre is an absolute dick too, but I think most people already know that. If he can get Mark to explode he could come out looking good in comparison.
The exchange between himself and Barton in question:

More great analysis here.
I also saw the Carney exchange with the two female journalists. The questions were downright stupid. It's a blind trust, he has no idea what's in it. They were clearly meant to bait him and he fell for it hook line and sinker. Carney's response was condescending and future exchanges like this will hurt him. Everybody knows PP is a condescending dick with reporters like you said, but this type of stuff will hurt Carney more. You can tell he's not experienced with the politician part of this. We aren't in a business meeting here. A change of tone is needed and fast. Watching this reminds us how talented JT was as a politician. The guy was a master at his craft love him or hate him.
Election will be called this week, and like we've seen in the last 2 months...things can change fast. I have not written off the Conservatives just yet. Pierre has a chance to turn this around. If Carney continues his elitist snob persona, he can piss away his new lead in the polls. Singh is done and his party will be lucky to get 7-10 seats.
The support for Carney is still soft, meaning he has more to lose than PP. Lots of voter projection going on right now and 25% of voters know nothing about him. The campaign will be crucial. This is still anyones game to win. We have an actual horse race and its going to start by the end of this week. Election April 28th or May 5th.
