Daily Journal of Commuting in Portland... On Foot

These photos were taken while I walked to and from work this past fall. Many of them are shots of the same streets and buildings shown in different light and weather conditions. Also, on certain days when I needed to go to other areas of town for various reasons I carried my camera with me when I left work. The pics sort of chronicle the passing of the fall season in September and October. Hope you enjoy!

September 24, 2008 Hawthorne District

September 26, 2008 W. Burnside St. heading into downtown; aerials from atop Commonwealth Building

October 12, 2008 Inner Eastside, around Stark St. between 12th and 20th Aves.

October 15, 2008 Along the Steel Bridge

October 16, 2008 Near Providence Medical Center, along Glisan St. and I-84

October 19, 2008 West Hills, looking towards Downtown Portland

October 21, 2008 NW Portland, in the morning fog

October 27, 2008 Commuting from Broadway in downtown to NW Portland

I'm moving to Portland next week -- so pumped to be skipping out on another New York winter. Nice photos, sir.

Very bohemian. I like the fact that you threw in some shots of the slums, too. Too often we only see "perfect Portland".

Portland ain't all roses and violets, but I'm guilty of usually photographing only the things I'm interested in. Nonetheless, these aren't really the slummy areas of Portland. Most of those are in North and Northeast Portland. I don't get over to those parts very often but one of these days I'll try to do a tour.

Wow, those were some beautiful pictures... thanks for posting them. Didn't the city receive a lot of snow recently? I'd like to see Portland in the snow.
