It'll be a vast improvement. However, it will require proper signalling by drivers to make it flow well since there are five approaches and speed is another factor as the top right corner has two very close entrances. I'm glad to see it finally has a start.

There is a five point roundabout in Moncton at Killam/Collishaw. I find it works very well, and is a definite improvement over what was there before.

Were talking about Island drivers here!!! I guess if it works there, it should work here. I'm sure island drivers, especially those in Charlottetown, have grown accustomed to them.

New Purolator Distribution Centre

Much work has been done on this project. The steel is up and the side panels are being installed. I'm not sure on the completion date but it will be a vast improvement for the company.

There are more roundabouts in Charlottetown than any Atlantic Canadian city, including a couple with 5 entries/exits.

What’s the other ones with 5 connections? Cornwall has the North River one with 5 roads but that’s the only one I can think of. When the Vogue Optical roundabout is finished I believe there will be 15 roundabouts. I believe HRM has 7 or 8.

Some Charlottetown residents worry a new subdivision planned for their neighbourhood may lead to traffic congestion in the area.

"There's going to be triple the number of cars coming through here in the morning ... It's dangerous. It's going to be horrendous. There's going to be a crash. And I don't want to be the one to turn around and say, I told you so."

Because the land was already zoned for housing, the city did not have to approve the project and residents were not notified about the development.

We need housing now! Why tie this up?! The traffic is bad everywhere. The same old excuses and complaints that tried to kill Sherwood Crossing and other developments. Did they think that this land was going to stay this way? Dumb as stumps they are!! I can see an IRAC appeall!!!

OFF TO IRAC WE GO!!

I was right!!

North-end Charlottetown residents make appeal to change plans for neighbouring subdivision

CBC NEWS PEI

MORE HERE >https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/princ...sion-1.6455605

150 people signed a petition to get city hall to stop the development and have also filed an appeal to IRAC. As one person said, "we're not against development.......!" but not in my backyard, right!
Maybe we need to get a petition started on how many people are looking for a place to live in Charlottetown. I bet it would be 20x more than the 150 signatures trying to stop it.

Halifax has at least 15 roundabouts functioning at the moment. There is at least one more opening this year built by HRM and I think nine more opening in 2023 built by the province.

You could say we like to go in circles!

I was incorrect. I thought the roundabout in Stratford connecting to the highway was five entries/exits, but it is four.
I don't know how many in total around Charlottetown. I would guess close to 25. There are 4 on the new Cornwall Bypass, I was driving in a new subdivision in Cornwall a few weeks ago and they had two small roundabouts.

I think this is the new BMO building.

I wonder if that new 500sqft would be the new Tims and Wendys kind of a big foot print though

1 on the Clyde River overpass
2 on Cornwall road overpass
2 in subdivision you mention
North River 5 way
Causeway factory shops
Capital & upton
Upton & the bypass
Airport
4 in east royalty on route 2
2 between the bridge and hospital
Farmers market
Allen & mount Edward
New 5 way roundabout in Sherwood
Stratford TCH
That makes 20, I’m pretty sure I got them all.
