Thing is, why can't we be BETTER than Dubai? lol. That's not the point here but hope you get my drift. You guys are so right though.

With that said, can't wait to see the Parq and the surrounding projects done fast!

Not sure if this has been discussed, but what is the plan (if any) with Edgewater once Parq is completed.

I think it is still unclear what will happen. Most of the Plaza has been taken down but the office area is still used and I think they just rebuilt the amphitheatre there. I guess we'll see but likely the site will be redeveloped eventually.

I believe Edgewater has a license to operate in their current location until Dec 2016. At this rate, that will need to be extended, hopefully just one more year.

There have been some "interesting" proposals to move the VAG to the current Edgewater site. I'd just like more un-interrupted seawall, whatever ends up happening.

This: http://former.vancouver.ca/commsvcs/planning/rezoning/applications/750pacific/index.htm

"Rezoning Application - 750 Pacific Boulevard (Plaza of Nations)

James K.M. Cheng Architects Inc. has applied to the City of Vancouver to amend the existing CD-1 (Comprehensive Development) District By-law for 750 Pacific Boulevard. The proposed amendment would change the CD-1 (349) By-law to include residential (130 525 m²), commercial (32 515 m²),and community centre (5 338 m²) uses, with a Floor Space Ratio (FSR) of 3.9. The residential use will provide 1,700 to 2,000 dwelling units. The commercial use will provide retail, office, hotel, restaurants, and cafes. The community centre and associated uses include a daycare for 69 children, an ice rink, and sports science centre. All required parking will be below grade. The buildings will vary in height and be up to a maximum of 30-storeys (87.5 m) to meet view cones

I think this sign has been on the fence along Pacific Boulevard for a long time.

It will be interesting to see how this complex integrates with the street level and BC Place concourse. Seems to be a bit slow going though.

I think it is tied up with the NEFC / Viaducts Plan processes. We should start to hear more about tit this fall.

Sorry I was referring to Parq Vancouver itself. I haven't seen much in the way of detailed street-level plans, just the bigger picture.

Another single shot I took of this project. More of an artistic shot of the cranes than an update, so my apologies!

They're still shovelling dirt out of the northeast corner of the site.

Thanks.

Those columns don't look very thick for supporting the loading bay access (semi-tractor trailers) to BC Place.

The temporary steps were open for the football game so I took advantage of the opportunity to get some up to date shots from west side (first five pics).

Thanks!

This level will be designed to support the truck traffic entering BC Place
- it looks like the thicker forms are for raised loading docks for the Casino / hotel complex (see plan below) and transfer beams(?).
