You won't find a thoughtful one of us on this board that condones this kind of violence, but you so much as try to dig deeper in yourself than pulling up some primal caveman grunting, snarling post on the matter, you're condoning it. This is why we can't have nice things. lol
I shouldn't be shocked, but I'm still kind of surprised at just how thoughtless people can be when it comes to certain subjects. I mean thoughtless quite literally: without thought, when you quite simply just feel/emote your way through a complicated issue.

I'm just as guilty as everyone else. Difference being I know I'm a fucking idiot whose not above internet tough guy bullshit despite being a fucking pussy in real life.
And I'm really having a hard time with this in particular:
Quote:
1) There have always been winners and losers and inequality in wealth. Britain may be more unequal now than it was during the immediate post-war period, but it is far more equal than it was 200 years ago. That's life. All men are not created equal... some are more talented, intelligent, driven, attractive or fortunate than others and as a result do better in life materially. Nothing will or frankly should ever change this.
2) Most of these people are not marginalized, oppressed groups. They're greedy thugs that want to steal and destroy property for kicks.
3) Being "marginalized" would still be no excuse for rioting, and does not in any way, shape or form change the nature of the punishment that should be meted out to them

That's incredibly easy to say when you were born/entitled to anything/everything at your whim and lucked into a life of luxury.
It smacks of "Let them eat cake." Yet I can't stand finding myself disagreeing with the assessment, since I know he's right.
Sorry to keep dragging this out on a relatively light-hearted section of a forum that takes itself way too seriously, but its bugging the hell out of me.
