There were very few options for a building that sat empty for many years due to restrictive covenants placed upon it by Loblaws

Indeed. Restrictive covenants have damaged the inner city of quite a few Canadian cities (Saskatoon being one as well), but there's really not much you can do about it after the agreement is signed.

Seeing this render of the new Keg makes me nostalgic for the good times of the old "north Keg" which used to be in a beautiful old warehouse on the corner of Hamilton & 8th Ave. Sigh

I don't know much about this but it seems odd that the City is allowing this church to develop their land right in the middle of Coopertown, but not allowing Dream/Dundee to develop the rest. There are also allegations in a submission to Council that this does not fit the OCP and that the Church is not paying the development levies it should be to compensate the City for infrastructure. I have no idea whether this is correct. City Council agenda and submissions:

Well if Dreams can pull off what their promo video indicates their intentions are for Coopertown, it will be a great addition to Regina! Anything on the timeline for this development? I assume it will be built out in neighborhood stages? It looks good!!

I sure hope they hold off on the Rosewood Park development. When Coopertown is being built, far more than just that small plot of land needs to be developed.

That being said, the Regina CMA is expected to add another 100,000 people in the next 11 years. While 20,000-30,000 of that growth will be in the metro area, that still leaves over 70,000 people to be added into the city itself. The Towns, Lakeridge North, Harbour Landing West, and other current developments will probably cover 50,000. That leaves a significant chunk of Coopertown and Westerra that will be built out in the next 11 years.

Any word on the Lakeshore redevelopment?

Not to forget about "Skywood," North of Lakeridge also. That is claimed to be home to 7-10k at full build-out.

In fact, Skywood should develop rather quickly as it is the site of one of the 3 new joint elementary schools slated for opening in 2017.

Indeed, I read that development is to begin next spring with new access roads. I wonder if they will be making Diefenbaker a 4-lane avenue? They have the space.
