Anything is possible, but it doesn't look like a good set up for a Tim Hortons.

It should be noted that many of the projects on their website are 15-25 years old.

BuildSask reports that YMCA is taking over the Canadian Tire South Albert Location with a Fitness Center and a Daycare.

They will use 25,000 sq ft of the 40,000 sq ft building. Great location for the community in my mind.

Regina will have 3 YMCAs? I'd bet that the new one won't have a pool.

The subdivision will be called Skywood. The school apparently needs to be completed by 2017. They are pushing forward with this quickly.
Thanks for the link! Great info.

The infrastructure for Greens on Gardiner Phase 6 referenced in the link is already under construction. There will be houses there very soon right up to Tower Road. I hope those people realize how close they will be to the new freeway.

If you buy / build there you will know and have to accept the freeway as "pre-existing condition" even if not built, the allowance will likely be written into the contract so that people are aware. Nobody should be surprised when this happens. And if they complain well, then why did you buy there? Kind of like buying in Harbour landing and complaining about plane noise. Didn't you know you bought near an airport? I mean if you want Peace and Quiet all the time, best buy in the country.

Such a shame that none of the schools they are planning to build for the city will actually be high schools from what I recall :/

To start, there will be five core beers: a blond ale, amber ale, Imperial pale ale, stout and Belgian wit beer. The recipes have already been decided.

They'll eventually brew Kombucha, sour cherry mead and soda.

The beers will be on tap in a 75-seat tap room. Heise sees offering 14 different brews at a time, on two different sets of taps - one for pints, one for take-home growlers.

I don't know if we need new high schools or just a better distribution of students. We have several high schools that are far under capacity.

... and that is exactly why the Government has not committed to any. At $60 million a pop (more for Joint use), everyone can't have one in their neighbourhood.

Unfortunatly it is parents wanting to send their kids to a close high-school, like they had had the ability to do with the elementary schools. Or the public perception of a high-school like Scott or Sheldon for their proximity to "unwanted" behavior undermines what the pluses are for those schools.

I think that in the next 5-10 years a new one will need to be built, but facilities like Cochrane are a good alternative for alternative forms of learning, trades, which at this point would be a good idea.

Hey guys! I'm gonna be visiting Regina for the Thanksgiving Long Weekend. I was wondering if y'all have any suggestions of places to check out? and a great spot for skyline shots too, if there are any The long range forecasts are looking pretty decent for October, so walking places shouldn't be a problem.

Pinkie Road, south of Dewdney, has a clear shot of the skyline & the stadium cranes in the foreground. Worth checking it out even if its just a drive-by.

The hill by Douglas park offers one of the best views of the city as well. The lake, downtown, and u of r is all visible from up there. One of my favourite spots in the city.

Great views could be had if one were to access some of the towers downtown or at the university

Second floor of the airport you get great views of downtown and can see some of the cranes up in the city. Harvard Tower 3 rooftop patio, you get great views up there.

As for places, check out the new pubs/restaurants downtown..

Thanks for the suggestions guys. What about nightlife and other attractions?

Is the rooftop of Mosaic Tower open to the public?

^Hahahaha...no.

There's nothing open viewpoint-wise now that the cafeteria in SaskPower is offlimits to the general public. If you hit a City Council session, the view from the top of City Hall is quite nice, but they might have issues with cameras and other recording devices.

Some of the windows from the University give a nice view.

I'd take you up if I still lived in Roberts Plaza, but sadly I don't.

It usually snows at least once by my birthday so bring gloves and a hat.

Lots of good places for a pint downtown now. Victoria's Tavern was nice when I went there. Beer Brothers has decent food and Bushwakker's is a must for me for beer drinking. I'll have to check the schedule of events to see if there's any music around town then.

O'Hanlon's and Leopold's are also good options downtown, and haven't been to it yet, but the Fat Badger has also opened up shop recently. Could end up doing a bit of a downtown pub tour.

Public meetings at City Hall are sadly no longer held on the 15th floor.

I recall a pretty good view from the top floor of the U of R main library.

For a view of downtown from the north, try Mount Pleasant, off Winnipeg Street in Uplands.
