GTA with 121 cranes or 27% of the N.A. crane count.

That’s impossible. Metro Vancouver has to have close to 100 itself.

The list is laughable for a fan site like this and yet it persists.

Calgary is probably the most accurate and that's because Calgary forumers keep track of a crane count. The Well is covered on UT. Woodbine Casino isn't. There's probably 8 to 10 cranes there. I'm willing to bet they use these forums to make up a number.

**Edit maybe not 8. I think there are more now than in this google capture. Nice collection of flat top cranes. They are being built with capacities similar to hammerheads so expect hammerheads to slowly disappear from our landscapes

The GTA has several hundred cranes, that 121 number is laughably inaccurate.

Should the hundreds of cranes in Metro Vancouver be counted?

That article is a joke, right? Is it April Fool's Day? There are so many holes in that story I don't know where to start.

The RLB CRANE INDEX specifically excludes Greater Vancouver and BC. Perhaps the reason is because we're in a category by ourself, or at least should be.

We do have a local crane count thread in our Vancouver Forum. Granted, it's hard to come up with anything other than a good estimate because there have been so many cranes coming and going. As of February 4th, 2020...

I would hazard a guess that The GTA is 300+, Metro Vancouver ~200. The others...

A nice update from Kelowna.

I really like Ellis Parc so far.

Feel it has great scale for Kelowna.

One Water Street from the corner of Ellis and Clement (I spoke to somebody with One72 concrete to see if their schedule has been impacted by COVID-19. He told me they are still on track to top out in late May/early June.) Look to be on level 30 of 36 at this point.

One Water Street from Sunset drive, and (somewhat) recently completed 1151 Sunset drive tower beside it.

One Water street looking south on Ellis

Nearby Packers Junction mixed use development, east of One Water Street on Clement. So much going on in this part of town!

This looks nice though it's hard to tell what the tower is clad in from that picture. I think London in a few years will have a very modern urban feel to it.

I disagree about London: I spent a lot of time driving around the south end of London (Wortley, Chelsea Green, East London between Dundas/Highbury/Commissioners/Wharncliffe) and really am sad to see so much of its historic core streets in decay or being bulldozed for generic G+C condos like 1 Richmond Row. Rather than boring Toronto-style balcony towers I'd like to see a height limit imposed: 8 storeys with high quality architecture filling in all the empty lots first.

Kingsway by the River near Dundas and Royal York - not a fan of these spandrel panels

Valhalla Town Square could've looked great if they'd hired good architects - like Saucier + Perrotte, aA or Studio JCI

Why would anyone want a balcony/view of the 427?

DTK condos at Duke and Frederick Kitchener

Amazing Brentwood in Burnaby.

Concord Brentwood towers will add greatly to the eastern Brentwood skyline.
