That you and other Vancouver posters are tripping over yourselves to conflate a comment about one part of a city with the city as a whole is really confounding. I've seen shots of nice parts of Vancouver, and I've even commented on them as such. Do you really need to be reassured that way?
The hyper-defensiveness and Marie Antoinette-like hysterics to any criticism of Vancouver is a reliable trend on this forum. Canadians are special snowflakes who are easily wounded by unflattering attention, but the Vancouver crew here take it to the next level. Which is rather ironic, given how tropical and/or Mediterranean it supposedly is there.
