I'm curious what drives that traffic. I don't think of Seattle as a large tourist destination for Edmontonians, but perhaps some people from Edmonton use Seattle for cheap Hawaii flights?

No different than Alaska/Horizon serving YYC, connections onward from their SEA hub. Plus serving both YYC and YEG with the Q400 the economics are probably pretty good to not have to have it 100% full to make the flights work.

A few years back I used Alaska/Horizon to SEA to connect to LAS, PSP, and SAN.

This was early 2000's back when they were still flying the kickass Fokker 28 from YYC.

Cool, that's good to know. I've been trying to get some Edmonton family members to meet me in Seattle, and thought it was a nice surprise to see they could get a non-stop flight directly there.

I would like to wish everyone on this thread Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas. It is going to be an exciting 2014 at EIA and I hope we continue to have a growing and prosperous airport.

Delta is clearly declaring war on Alaska Airlines in Seattle.

Just learned they are going to add YYC and YEG shortly…

Should be announced in the new year.

Looks like there is a Santa Claus and his alias is tuffy.

There will probably be a price war to SEA and onwards. Good for us but bad for AS in the long run.

I need to use up 500K plus pts on Alaska ASAP - I am thinking AS will not serve routes Delta sees as "must haves" ... and we are a prize for them at SeaTac.

It is odd that there is not a snippet of info on the web anywhere I can find about Delta SEA to YEG. Anyone have a link to any site that is musing about this anticipated flight?

So YEG-SEA on Delta is going to happen. Should do well, especially with all the new flights that DL already has announced from SEA.
