Sounds like my idea of perfection. It's within reach, but it isn't ruining your day in 25 different ways.

I wonder how many Vancouver folks wish they had snow in the city... To them I say: Come to Montreal during a snowstorm and/or the months of Jan/Feb. It's not cute. We're talking brown swaths of ice/snow layers embedded with damage-inducing rock pebbles. Oh and don't get it on your hands or clothes - dirty white stains and the penetrating sting of giant salt chips will ensue.

Snow makes the city look and feel like absolute shit from street level. It also creates hazardous 'everyday life' situations. You can't walk, drive or dress nonchalantly. You can't wear nice things or drive a nice car. You have to share the sidewalks and roads with snow removal contraptions whose drivers assume your survival instinct will keep you safe.

Hence why seeing green grass all over Montreal in December is neither sad, nor a cause for concern. It's rejoiceful imo. Sucks for our local ski resorts, but their lack of snow has more to do with the fact they are located on baby-sized mountains.

Snow in a smaller town, otoh, is charming.

^ Very nice shot - I always liked the Western Canadian towers, especially when they're crazy-reflecting-gold!

Great pics! I couldn't even figure out where the pic was taken. At first I thought it might have been Halifax until I looked down and saw the new Port Mann and realized it was NuWest.

The first photo here stumped me for the longest time, I thought I was looking at Montreal, but wow, this is an angle of Greater Vancouver I don't really see often.

Those first couple pictures actually make NWM look like a major city!

Well, major in the Winnipeg or Hamilton sense, not major in the Toronto sense.

^That's a good angle, probably one of the best angles. The Deloitte really made itself at home in the skyline. Pity it'll disappear in few years.

This sentence doesn't make any sense to me. It's the best of both worlds. You know you can drive up to the top of the mountains in my photo above?

Personally i don't mind the rain and clouds. Keeps the grass green.

Personally I think Vancouver would be better if it got a little more snow more often.

For example, I think Chilliwack probably has the best climate in Canada, hot humid summers, but mild winters with much more snow than Vancouver.
