Boring! Can they stop presenting use with a new version of the same render every 2 or 3 years and just build the damn thing? 350,000 sq ft is really nothing impressive, Standard Life and co should start digging like, today.

aren't they in competition with Waldorf Astoria to see who can delay construction the longest, I sure this baby will be up by 2025 (Waldorf no latter than 2030)

Won't that do a lot of damage to downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake? I'm surprised in this day and age that we're still building malls rather than high streets.

Outdoor malls I can't understand, but indoor malls are way better than streets.

I'm not sure it will - NOTL's shops tend to be specialty stores (here's a link, not sure how up to date it is)

Power centres, the Pen Centre in St. Catharines, and the outlet mall in Niagara Falls will probably feel it though.

That's pretty good, I just never heard anything about Ottawa's condo market on this site so I thought that it never really boomed.

I don’t think it’s intended to be a replacement for Arts Central. I think it’s a different thing entirely. It’s an “arts incubator” where artists will live and be inspired by each other, and collaborate. I think there are others of these in other cities, but I’m not that familiar with the concept. It sounds like an interesting idea though.

Best part is that this tower is not alone in new tallest proposals.

1. Edmontonian - Sky Garden - Above

2. 102 Street Centre - 161m

3. Katz Arena condo - rumoured to be ~50 storeys - 155m?

4. Mixed use building - rumoured to be ~55-60 storeys - 170m?
