Sticky and mostly cloudy in Moncton at 4 PM. We reached our high temperature at 3 PM (23.4C).

I did some clean-up around the pool area this afternoon, and had to take a breather in the gazebo afterwards. It felt like mid summer with the humidity.

We may get showers or thunderstorms this evening. It's still deadly dry around here. As bad as it is im Moncton, I think it's worse on PEI. I was on the Island yesterday, and the lawns looked frankly dead, and, a lot of the trees were stressed and dropping leaves.

Fall colours are starting to show in the GTA already. I would guess 1-2 weeks earlier than normal.

Not an expert by any means, but I'm presuming this could be due to the trees being stressed from the long periods we went without rain, and some much cooler than normal night time lows in late August and early September.

Beauty week coming up, last blast of summer. Cooling off to a bit below seasonal for the weekend, then likely seasonal into the week after.

24/25/26/28/22/19 are the highs. All sunshine.

Same here in Vancouver, I was noticing the color change at the end of August (city lined street trees) and now looking out the window even more yellows and reds leaves.
Very stressed from a record breaking summer.

Edit: 2 hours later - waiting for shadows to move.

That tree to the most right is the last to go autumn colors, so much so that in January leaves (brown) are still hanging on.

The heatwave finally broke today in the BC interior with low to mid 20s today, but there will be some rebound back to warmth starting tomorrow for this week.

17c at 120 in the morning here theres still blue beires comming nd and the leafs finaly started to shift can still go swiming witch is unual for mid sept lakes still 17c at the intake for the towns water

11C and sunny in Moncton at 9 AM, going up to 22C this afternoon.

We had a bit of rain last night, but, not nearly enough, only a few mm. Just a tease for the grass.

I still have not mowed the lawn since the end of July. The only thing I did yesterday was take down the taller weeds with a weed-whacker. The rest of the lawn remains dormant.

Next tropical wave to keep an eye on:

80% chance of this developing into something within the next seven days. On it's current track, I think the Maritimes will be OK, but Newfoundland might be at risk. This of course all depends on things such as blocking highs etc. Too soon to tell yet.

I've been checking https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ every once in a while and noticed lots of activity but nothing forming or major (newsworthy).
Maybe still early in the season? or it's just a quiet season

We saw a high of 26 C in Timmins today. And it was the first fully sunny day we've had in quite awhile. Warm again tomorrow but with showers and possibly thunderstorms.

Clear, sunny, warm and dry. It may be summer's last blast. I'll be putting my portable air conditioner away in a couple of days.

Tuesday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 24 C (27 C w/Humidex), the low was 13 C.

27C with a humidex of 30 and sunny. Finally a bit more humid. You immediately feel the warmth. Nice warm breeze as well.

Patios are full well into the evening with a temp that remained above 20C even right now.

Low of 14C this morning.

The warmspot was Warfield, BC at 31.8C.

Warmest low was Western Island, ON at 18.5C.

14C and overcast in Moncton at 8 AM, only getting up to 17C today.

We actually had a rainshower in the city about an hour ago, and, more showers are expected later in the day.

Lachine Canal! Scrolling down came to this picture and that feeling, in my chest, sinking feeling of home sickness.
I pretty sure or know that ships dont use it anymore? but do all the gates still operate? I might be completly wrong of its use in the 21st century.
