So, I don't know why we keep saying Quebec (or MTL) is European. Is it in terms of architecture? If so, I find the old part of Montreal is not ornamented enough like European buildings, which makes sense because Canada did not have the kind of wealth to generate the kind of buildings we see in Europe that stuck around for centuries + so the style we see in Old Montreal and Old Quebec are distinctively North American.
There is only one street in Montreal that I find "European-ish," and it is this one. The other were either too simple, or were built at a time when Canada did have enough wealth to push for better looking buildings but by this time, the architectural styles have already diverged.
