For Winnipeg if SkyCity happens it is proposed at 575ft/175m.

Is it me or is Toronto's skyline getting better by the month? I keep seeing better and better skyline shots of TO.

Another reason Hamilton and Montreal are siblings.

Yeah but that pic is at least two years old... CHUM isn't even visible yet, same with Roccabella.

Ok - that's about what I thought.
Any update on the status of SkyCity (ie. is it likely to happen) ?

For Ottawa unless I am wrong it's about 180 m, or 55 storeys. It's outside the CBD though, and some distance from it to the west in Ottawa's Little Italy.

A similarly high building is also being planned for central Gatineau, across the street from the Museum of History.

Gatineau is basically downtown, and with one or two apartments added in the Centre Town area the Dows Lake area could easily be part of Ottawa's main skyline. 10 or so buildings in the right place could get Dows Lake and Tunney's Pasture as part of the skyline (that'd be the dream).

Yes, the Gatineau building would be a prominent part of the Ottawa skyline from many angles. In the Ottawa forum there were some illustrations provided as part of a discussion of whether it would spoil views of Parliament Hill.

Which I really don't get. Surely seeing that Canada's capital is a thriving metropolis would be a good thing?

I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen. Based on the available info, I'd put it somewhere between longshot and complete, total non-starter.
