No way! So is the long side 11th or Broad? I wonder what an office building that size would've done to change the way Broad Street developed over the following years (both the west, and especially the east side). Or would it have at all? Crazy. Any other projects of that size that fell through between the 50's and the 90's?

In 1963, there was a proposal for the Old City Hall site (Midtown Centre/Galleria) for a twin tower, hotel/office proposal that was to be 45 storeys high! Would THAT have been something!

Hill Tower I was originally to be 24 floors. Also there was a large hotel proposal for the Plains Hotel site (well before CP). There was an office tower proposed at the Namerind site on 11th.

Also, I recall that the Ramada Renaissance (Delta) was announced as 30 floors (ended up 25)

Lol. I'm not from Regina, but every time I'm in town I can't help but notice that massive hole and no one working on site. Whats the deal with it? The last article I could find was from back in November, stating that the project is moving along fine and it should be complete by 2018.

Well, back in '82, the Harvard towers we to each be 22 floors. (90 metres.) Back then, it called Victoria Plaza. I was very disappointed when they announced the reduction of the height. In any case though, they were originally to be 90 metres.

I very well remember seeing the architect's model of the original version of Victoria Plaza. For a 16-year-old to see that, it was pretty damn impressive - especially for Regina at that time!!!

The SPC building was originally to be 20 floors. Had it been so, SPC would have been massive!

That is excellent economic news for the region.

Just remember it is about 1/20th the size of the K+S project. It is scalable, so if it proceeds, it is still great news.
