i'm sure if you wanted to pay for the incremental cost of those ten floors john would be happy to take your money and let you build them. i will warn you however that those incremental costs will be much more than proportional.

^ It's a long exposure, any people in the shot are reduced to just blurry smudges.

That street pictured is about 1/2 as wide as 102 avenue. The other difference is that along 102 avenue, most of the buildings face the street, with a blank face to 102 avenue.
102 avenue will most likely not look anything like what coldrsx has posted above. The similarties will end at "both streets have rail embedded in it"

Yes, but development will hurry that along - such as Fox condos. Plus additional projects in the Warehouse District, etc.

Things can be, if we make them be.

So I heard the Hotel Mac is shutting down. Demolition is a possibility.

It's in a sweet spot. Be a good location for a Travelodge or something.

I heard that as well, personally I don't mind it for it will allow a lot more light into the 100st corridor.

Would make a perfect spot for a parking tower. Our core needs more parking, and getting rid of the old Mac would be a perfect parcel for a concrete - 10/12ish storey garage.

My sources tell me that it will be replaced by a retirement mid-rise, designed by Ed Gooch / GMH. I'm reassured that it will "respect the original" design of the Mac, but will "brighten up the valley" with more pleasing colours.

I don't understand this apprehension. Gooch has proven himself to have significant say to the developers as to what is to be built with his name attached to it. You're saying like he gets paid with bottles of whiskey.

Parking tower wouldn't work here, gravel lot would be better. Would blend with the nature in the river valley that way.
