newfangled

The ugly (puke as Cold says) ICONs really ruin the view, but it is a really cool view otherwise. I don't know why people don't like them, but I love the wires.

The photo might be a lil' dark though. What is your camera?

^^I'd assume so. I'm not posting there anymore, it's just so stupid now, but I read through the topic, some pretty retarded stuff was said. C2E has become ridiculous. Just sign in briefly to exchange PMs is all anymore.

Ah yes. I didn't notice Oliver Square. I think ICON is the main ruiner, as it is dead centre in the image. Looking a little closer, you can see all those other terrible projects too.

Aw, come on. Is ICON really that bad? As I was looking at the picture, I was imagining the view with Century II in place of ICON. So it could have definitely been worse!

yup... Icon isn't as bad as people make it out to be. However, it still falls short given its location. That said, recent precedent dictates it is the 8th wonder of the world.

unfortunately.

Doesn't matter. We need to keep active on C2E to keep the trolls at bay.

How else do we plan to change the city, one resident at a time? Preach it to the newbies 240GLT! </encouragement>

...For whatever reason, I've never gotten a C2E account. I read plenty of the posts, but I'd get tired of replying to some of the ill-informed posters...

It has a decent SE and east facade I'd say, but it looks brutal otherwise. That west wall is a horror. The northwest angle that the photograph shows, shows it's worst side.

It doesn't always work if they're only willing to consider their own opinion and won't let anything - be it reason, logic, or otherwise getting shot down repeatedly - change their minds. That part of it can be very frustrating.

some quarters stuff?

i took these from manasc issac's website.

i think these are somewhat old, because i remember seeing renders of the blue glass tower, etc. before, but nonetheless, what do you guys think of it? these seem to affect the NW part of the quarters area. i think it definitely looks good, but maybe a few 10-15 storey buildings in there would just be ideal...here are pictures

97 St? Yes, this is exactly what it should be.

An aerial, and look at the rowhousing (?)...

Looks pretty good imo.

This would be an AMAZING kickstart to the quarters IMO. great connector from chinatown to the quarters. what is the status on this thing?

Hit up the update for jasper avenue's redesign. Very very nice. More or less:

Hits
-5 lanes instead of 7
-moving those 'shelters' from jasper onto the streets to reduce clutter
-moving the corona lrt entrance from on jasper to 108st beside the new rexall
-CP bridge returns for pedestrian bridge at 110st
-trees, trees, trees

Misses:

-dedicated bike lane
-diagonal crosswalks at 109, 105, 101
-no left turn lanes at 109st

^ CP Bridge

Are they building a completely new bridge or did they save the old one? There is a new building proposed there as well between Assoc. Eng and 110 st isn't there?
