Clearly the government is exerting pressure of these 2 separate departments to prevent information about the GTH land deal from becoming public (charging CBC $180,000 for access to information requests for the GHT contracts as well as emails over a few day period). Normally requests this limited would be either free or a very low cost (and itemized), and instead the 2 departments are lumping everything together and charging over $100 per page to access the documents, which is nearly criminal in my mind.

Someone made the comment a while back (Stormer?) about how they were hoping Viterra would be continuing the restoration of the building on the other floors.

I meant to say something a week ago or so, but the lift is back, and a bunch of windows on the first and second floors have been replaced with plywood. They did this at the start of the 3rd floor process too. From how it seemed to go, they keep the windows/new frame inside, move them onto the lift, remove the window/frames and replace them with the new.

Yes, in fact there is an architectural restoration report filed with the City Council minutes of Jan. 26, 2015 with lots of detail on the windows. They are all being restored to close to original. The ground floor windows will be substantially different than current. They will included an interesting and unusual leaded glass transom. The page of the report describing this in detail is missing.

On May 16, residents are invited to review three redevelopment concepts for the 17-acre site and share their thoughts. Everyone welcome. The event will be held in Salon 2 at Evraz Place.

The Open House will include a background presentation, facilitated discussion, interactive information boards, participant workbooks and a chance to engage with the project team.

It's going to be an interesting process because the RRI needs condo/apartments and office space. Two of the things developers are cutting back on. Developers are going to be most interested in putting big and medium box retail there.

I just hope we don't end up with a shitty hockey arena there.

What I don't understand, if they want exposure to the broad public, why is this not posted online. What's with the exclusive townhall format? is this the 70's? Sure do the townhall but make the info readily accessible online with a FAC section.

I disagree. Regina is always passed over for Saskatoon or even Moose Jaw. A nice new arena pretty much downtown will do wonders.

Starting this summer, the Regina-based retail co-op will start work on building a new gas bar, convenience store and car wash, a project expected to take two years.

To do all that, the co-op has bought the adjacent A&W and Plum Gardens restaurant sites. A new A&W will be built on the Plum Gardens site, and the gas station/carwash will grow north onto the former A&W site. The new gas station will have 10 bays capable of handling 20 vehicles at a time.
