20:1 was mentioned but in a highly developed country like Canada, you'd probably need more. That said, they wouldn't need to occupy much, blockades of the coasts would effectively stifle out economy. Tactically, you want a minimum of 3:1 attacker-defender in Western doctrine. So a section attacks a fireteam, a platoon attacks a section, a company attacks a platoon, etc. So if we can hypothetically mount a defence with 10,000-20,000 troops (a division) on the line, the Americans would need a Corps to attack comfortably, which wouldn't be too much aggravation for them to muster.

I mapped out the prairies only. All of our strongest economic levers against USA, would immediately turn to military points of interest for USA upon invasion.

Namely Potash, Uranium, Oil, and the pipeline that sends oil.

Those will be their highest priority to control. And all of those economic interests reside in the prairies. The prairies are also the easiest to invade. (No St Lawrence/Great Lakes protection, No mountain protection like BC). So USA could very well just settle on taking the prairies and forget about the East. That's bad for us, obviously, since we all live here. But I'm just trying to wrap my head around the gameboard, USA interests, front lines, and safe retreat zones for us as well.

I can't believe I am responding to this, but there isn't going to be an invasion, unless we royally botch our response to all this. And the way that people are freaking out, it is creating a bit of a self-fulfilling prophesy.

And the entire point of that is so the rich don't have to pay income taxes and can just rake in their money without having to dance around the tax structure. Billionaires and corporations don't pay taxes (or minmize their taxes) because they 'invest' in R&D, or make charitable donations, or whatever else.

With no personal income tax, they can just rake in the billions to their personal accounts.

Yes, we should all just lay back, and take it when an obviously unhinged leader of the most powerful country on Earth, has threatened to annex Canada for the past 3 months. As if it's a perfectly normal thing, to threaten to economically cripple one's closest allies.

I think most Canadians are prepared to rise up and stand our ground. There will always be people who attempt to downplay and even justify what Trump is doing.

This is nearly a carbon copy of what Putin did to Ukraine before they took Crimea in 2014. Right up until Russians marched into the Crimean Peninsula, many Ukrainians told concerned countrymen that they were overreacting too.

From my gun owning friends, they bought more guns in anticipation of future restrictions. As far as I know, the Government has grabbed back very few so far.

There are probably more guns floating around, due to illegal smuggling. With the threat of annexation, I don't see smuggling operations slowing down at any point.

That would not be wise. It's better if we copy what Israel did- develop nuclear weapons secretly, without the knowledge of the fascists down south. Then test one in an area sparsely populated area, and let the World find out when we have a few.

They used to launch rockets up there. I know a guy who helped design the black Brant’s so we have the people here to make it happen.

got one of their old pickup trucks from the base that somehow found its way to lynn lake
