I dislike it... it would actually look better IMO in dark, like the John Hancock.

Thanks for posting the pic of the Hamilton Street Victorian houses in downtown Vancouver. Here are a few more pics to add some context. I live in the building just across the back lane from these delightful little houses. It was part of a deal the city did with a developer to save these houses and restore them. There are a number of little clusters of old buildings in downtown Vancouver but they are rare and much appreciated for what they add to the texture of a very new city. The last pic below is a panorama of the view from my apartment on Homer Street (next street over from the old houses) looking west.
