Love this one: http://vuosiamaailmalla.fi/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/metroplace_silver_sovereignista.jpg

Cool train, dense enough, love that new building, and the effect of that hill making it look like those cross streets end like a brick wall at farmland is fun.

Thanks for the Burnaby-Metrotown tour. It has changed a lot from when I worked there (94-95). Back then the Edmonds skyline was 1 tower in a park. Middlegate mall was still there.

Oh no Flar! You've let the Easterners in on the secret! All western cities are just suburbs with tall towers!

I love it when cities keep some of their old housing stock (and in good condition) instead of demolishing it, adds some variety to the area.

This from the new Foster tower's promotional material, but also happens to be a great skyline view...

^Even without the Foster building, that shows the death of Toronto's pyramid skyline quite well. I really like that angle.

So that's going to be Toronto's first supertall? I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. Very simple and bland design.

I can't say I'm terribly disappointed. More relieved then anything. It isn't jaw dropping spectacular, but I'd consider it better than any of the other 200m+ buildings under construction or recently completed so that's something. My ultimate 'first supertall" dream was for it to be a 400m office building and not ugly. But since it avoided my worst nightmare which was a balcony smothered condo only a meter or two above ST status and ugly) I'm happy.

I rather like it. Echoes of John Hancock Building in Chicago, but nicer colors.

I would have thought that most people in Vancouver knew this.

Exactly, this looks like a half century old design. I would've expected something more modern looking. I guess I'm glad in didn't turn out to be another simple glass tower though...
