I can't comment on the video board being a problem, because I'm on the SS at the 55 yard line. However, if your on the North side, it's probably tough to see especially if your closer to the East end of the stadium.

They should have put the scoreboard right in the middle. I know it would be covering the parking garage, but who cares? The parking garage has a direct connection to the building (if I was paying high end money, I would be expecting one as well).

The best solution would have been to move the garage to where the scoreboard is now, and just added a longer walk way to the building. It's like 15 meters.

Since that's not going to happen, they need to add a secondary scoreboard on the SS (maybe over the broadcasters booth) at some point.

My only complaint with the scoreboard is the way the information was displayed on it. The down, distance, score, etc. are all bunched together s it's difficult to make out which number refers to what.

Aside from that, the image itself is terrific.

That brand new roof over the north side bleachers look pretty tired and dishevelled. Is that ponded water or staining? Or both? It hadn't rained in days!?! Should've dressed that thing up with some of them south side 2x4's. Do I have to think of everyting?

8,643 in attendance for the international friendly yesterday, a bit better than the 6,500 they were predicting. For a midweek game, middle of the summer when many are out of town on vacation, thats a good crowd for professional soccer in Ottawa! Very promising sign!

I was there, and had a blast despite the lack of scoring. The Rangers goal was a beauty!

Everything was smooth with the concessions too. Though its funny that people line up for beer for 5-10 minutes, when you can get it without a lineup if you just walk a bit under the stands beside the popcorn place. Also, I like how a big draft is $9,75, while at Scotiabank Place, I think you get ripped off and pay $11.

I dunno, when I watch major sporting events on TV, aerial shots of the stadiums are very common. So I guess to answer your question about who sees it: anyone who watches sports on tv. That's not too many people, right?

No, they stripped the old roof deck right off the girders, shortened the overhang, then installed a new deck. Although based on the aerial photos I am starting to wonder if they simply recycled the old deck. Those sneaky rascals. Well, that would have saved a few bucks; and, after all, that was the name of the game with this place, right?

If you're wondering why they didn't take this golden opportunity to integrate some of the south side materials (i.e., glorified 2x4s), so am I. So am I ...

Maybe, but either way they're not even pressure treated! They're starting to weather already. Who's gonna pay for the crew of summer students needed to slap a coat of thompson's weatherseal on those things every couple of years? Not MY taxes dollars!!!

As an aerial photographer, I can tell you that roofs that are BRAND new, (especially if brilliantly white), look dishevelled within a couple rain storms.

I could grab some pics of the convention centre to prove my point.

I have been to the new stadium twice now and have had a wonderful experience on both occasions. The new Lansdowne is turning out to be much better than I expected, and the stadium itself is a joy to be in. That is why I find your posts so amusing. I get the sense that if OSEG walked on water you would complain that they couldn't swim.

I am not sure if you are half-joking with your grumpy rants and/or playing devil's advocate, (hard to read a person's intent sometimes with online posts), but I am bullish on this project.
