So who's sponsoring this bill?

What bothers me is not the homeless issue but rather state lawmakers thinking they should legislate what cities should do or not do. Denver has done much more than most cities (nationally) to address the problem but as the article points out the ones often creating problems for business owners, especially on the 16th Street Mall aren't seeking out services they can't get; rather they're just wanting to do as they wish without regard for others rights.

Those who live outside of Denver shouldn't be meddling in Denver's business until they've done as much towards solving the problem in their own communities as Denver has.

If it isn't the right wing nut cases in Arizona wanting to pass dumb, intrusive laws in Arizona then it's the liberal loons in Colorado.
Where else are there liberal loons in Colorado besides Denver? I know Boulder doesn't have enough representation in the state legislature to force Denver's hands (and if they're pretending to care about the homeless that would be just precious).

And although I would agree with your interpretation and would also be against this bill, if the rest of the state could override Denver and pass something MORE left leaning than the city has that would be as ironic as (to quote Archer) "O. Henry and Alanis Morissette had a baby and named it this exact moment"

The Speaker's from Boulder, that's all it takes.

But the sponsors of that bill are suburban dems, not Boulder.

Denver's so liberal they're isn't enough room in the city limits for all the lefties to live? ?

Every once in a while, I find some gold in my thousands of drone photos. Didn't realize I had a straight on downtown shot like this!

I could not agree with you more here. However, if you read the bill, all it does is allow the homeless person who is being "harassed" to have a civil cause of action. Pragmatically speaking, very little will come of this because a) the homeless person will have a very difficult time finding a lawyer to represent him or her (most non-profit groups such as Colorado Legal Services are so over worked that I doubt they will take on these cases) and b) even if they do find a lawyer, god luck fining a sympathetic jury who will award damages. IMO this bill is all fluff.

Also is stands somewhere around Zero chance of getting passed in the Senate.

Great shot.

Of course, you realize you're going to have to recreate all these pictures once there are actual trains coming and going from DUS. Just warning you now to set expectations.

You think I would disappoint you Dan? I mean... I got mall shuttle, LRT, and CML train action going on here!

Yes yes, very nice. But I want to see multiple passengers trains at once under the canopy. That's my demand.

And VelociRFTA. I haven't forgotten. Punk.

Hey! Thanks! It looks like I'm just below Tabor Center, so I'm thinking ~400 feet! (Right at the FAA set limit )

Now just imagine that same view 5 years from now a little further to the west. Union Station area between 15th and 20th completely built out, with 1144 15th towering above the skyline next to 4S with 1401 Lawrence right below it. The last big parking lot in Lodo infilled (hopefully) by the ballpark. Maybe, just maybe another tower in the middle (Tabor 2). And a couple condo towers along 15th.

Currently, from that exact vantage point, we will see:

1401 Lawrence rising halfway up the 4s' broad side

1144 15th Street exceeding the roof of the 4s, going ~halfway up the spire

Wow, that's an awesome vantage point!

I still can't make any sense why they built those big frames in the train hall over the platforms and didn't install fabric over them, can really see them missing in that photo.

"Affordable housing project on Denver RTD rail line breaks ground"
Apr 16, 2015 by Molly Armbrister, Denver Business Journal
Quote:
An affordable-housing transit-oriented development broke ground Thursday at Regional Transportation District's Yale Station, developed by Mile High Development LLC and Koelbel and Co. Inc
Rendering HERE.

I also found this interesting tid bit from the University Hills North Community
Quote:
The developer also purchased the residence (with the tennis court) just to the north - they are working to assemble property to do the next phase which appears to involve constructing a 7 to 8 story building and relocating light rail parking to the north. The UHNC board is working on getting more information on the plans.
Woo Hoo - Another groundbreaking

Another delightful photo. I like some landscape including flowers as part of the urban fabric.

I don't know if anyone posted this from last month but I found it very interesting. Nice article and video about Riverfront Park. It's cool to see Riverfront in just about 15 years almost fully built out...great vision from the city, East West, etc.

Happy Friday
