I see the cops were once again cosplaying Secret Service convoy on Granville Street today at the same time there was an accident on the Oak Street Bridge. Brilliant!

Who are they expecting to attend the games here? King Charles? The Pope?

Yeah. they were trainning (level 4, police escort) on Burrard St. today and yesterday. They do 4 convoys a day, 2 into Downtown and 2 out of Downtown.

It looks like a few places are hosting some free viewing parties outside of the "FIFA Fan Festival" at Hastings Park.

Granville Island and the Shipyards will have outdoor screens. Surrey has something going on as well.

But downtown... nothing? Will there be any screens? I can't find any information about them.

I'm still confused as to how much of downtown around BC Place will be closed to traffic on game days... for what? Are they or are they not anticipating a ton of fans there that don't have tickets to the actual game. We hosted sold out Taylor Swift concerts without this much hassle.

With sports events like this, it's so much better to be a part of the atmosphere outside the stadium. Like when the Canucks were in the Stanley Cup final.

Yeah I'd be willing to bet most places are doing more.

Opening BC Place and selling reasonable tickets to watch Canada's non-Vancouver games would be a great start.
