I'm not sure where else to put this or if it even fits in this forum. Feel free to delete if so.
With all the talk of new buildings, there still is a large amount of the working population who cannot afford rental prices. Some buildings put in some affordable unit but that doesn't house many.
Is it time for Moncton to have micro-unit style apartments like you see in NYC or Toronto. I know that even with me working, if I have to move from where I am now, I don't know if I could find another place. A nice new micro-unit would be more than fine.
I'm not talking about the kind where you don't have a full kitchen or a private bathroom. More of a two burner stove, good sized fridge not bar fridge, studio style or sleeping alcove style.
Developers could fit more units into a building and would offset the lower prices of rent so they don't lose profit.
