Do you have a source for that? Sounds interesting.

I was looking for one the other day, it was the talk of the radio for a bit, I remember Michael Jackson's name was involved.

ICYMI - This from July 7th - looks like this regards the lot where the Texx Burger shop and other businesses currently sit.

37-storey tower gets thumbs up from Surrey council Monday
Council voted on the application following a public hearing on Monday night

Surrey city council gave third-reading approval Monday night on an application to build a 37-storey tower on Whalley Boulevard, following a public hearing. The plan is to develop the mixed-use tower including a five-storey podium, commercial space on the ground floor, and 389 dwelling units at 10318 and 10324 Whalley Boulevard. During the public hearing, Fleetwood resident Richard Landale lamented a lack of trees in the area. “This is what we have to thank city planners and developers for,” he told council.

there is somebody in Surrey who on any kind of development talk on social media will always chime in to say they are killing all the trees, we must not allow towers to replace trees etc. They can be replanted, perhaps they don't understand that. Many older long time residents of Surrey are horrified that Surrey is developing at all.

It's true that not a small quantity of tall mature conifers have been axed in Surrey City Centre. Always thought they could try and save more of these mature trees as realistically they will never be replaced in an urban setting.

No threads for those. The one on the corner of 104 is Sunshine Housing Co-op, also a low rise.

signage and fencing have gone up for the 33 floor Juno project on 104th, in the location of an old car wash next to a Nissan dealership.

Soon to soar high above Surrey City Centre is StreetSide’s first concrete tower, Juno. Situated within Surrey’s rapidly changing Business District along 104th Avenue, this 33-storey residential high-rise and six-storey podium will bring to market over 340 condos. Juno focuses on room to breathe – spacious studio to three-bedroom homes including smart lock-off suites, and an abundance of lush landscaped outdoor spaces and interconnected indoor amenities including coworking areas, a wellness centre, and rooftop sky lounge. Coming Soon.

Demolishment of the old Surrey Eye Care Centre building is well underway.

I have no idea what's going in its place, but away goes the last of my original street markers when I moved here

And then there is this - looks like it's the next MP Emporium highrise already hinted at on the site.

It too bad this will become just another tower and not incorporated into the SFU Surrey campus somehow.
