Just the shorter, 73 storey tower, is U/C now. The supertall, 82 storey tower, isn't even in sales yet.

I thought it was both for the longest time until I saw destruction was only progressing on the east tower site. The buildings on the west side were still occupied the last time I looked. I had similar thoughts with Sugar Wharf 2. I haven't seen any sales data. It may be phased as well.

Now we will have the tallest Ghery, and the tallest Mies. But only the 6th tallest Foster. Like TD Tower Forma will likely be Ghery's last tall tower the world sees built.

CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre l Phase 2 u/c

The core is at level 12… hard to believe that this is scheduled to top out in a year and a half but with standard floor plates it could happen. The Phase 1 core went from only 10 floors to the building topping out in less than 18 months (core and steel).

The One is planned to top out at 328.4 metres. I can only think of the 381 metre Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid and 339.1 metre Comcast Technology Center being taller. Okay, there's also a 330 metre topped out tower in Wuhan and I don't track under construction since 1/3 of global supertalls end up in on hold purgatory. 6th is could be for built and under construction

I remember when 18 Yonge looked huge. Now it looks tiny.

2.350 Park Avenue 411.5 m / 1,350 ft (proposed)
3.Penn 15 387.1 m / 1,270 ft (proposed)
4.Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid 381.2 m / 1,251 ft (completed)
5.Comcast Technology Center 339.1 m / 1,112 ft (completed)
6.Yuexiu Global Financial Center 330 m / 1,083 ft (U/C)
7.The One 328.4 m / 1,077 ft (U/C)
8.The Index 326 m / 1,070 ft (completed)
9.The Towers 319.7 m / 1,049 ft (proposed)
10.Varso Tower 310 m / 1,017 ft (completed)

I really want to rant here on counting proposed. All I say is the many forumers on urbantoronto that think every proposed skyscraper will be built by 2035 are going to thoroughly disappointed. With that said, they are NYC proposals which is very different from proposed in Toronto

Wrong height for The One.

I know the CTBUH rules but Foster's Comcast is a 277 metre building (roof) with a cooling tower box and a (somewhat bewildering and inelegant) slab/spire securing its height.

What was Norman thinking?

Some local media haven't been kind... including this one titled "Comcast to flip off Philadelphia Skyline with 1,121-foot Skyscraper".

Norman saw $$$ with this Nigel Dancey design. Now, Norman splits the dollars with a Toronto equity firm.

The problem with Comcast Tech Center isn't its design. It's that it is up against the Liberty twins and Stern's Comcast Tower. The spire keeps The One from being called a brown and beige Comcast knockoff LOL

Because of the proximity to the Liberty Twin's, I've found the boxy nature of both Comcast tower's to be lacking, even if it's a noteworthy architectural contrast in some ways. I find Foster's tower to be superior in some ways to that of Stern's tower design, but the pencil-mast like protrusion on the top ruins the design. (which overall still isn't much to write about)

I'd love to see the "spire" lopped off Foster's tower someday, but I know that's unrealistic. That being said, it basically becomes a Wolf Point clone, which is basically. (one of the newer Chicago office buildings to go up near their river).

I do see the resemblance to Wolf Point. Wolf point is more articulated. I really like Wolf Point's lines. The cladding is very ho hum. I gotta give points to Foster's Comcast structural hanger exoselection give it is being reused right here in Toronto.

I don't know why TD needs signage on all 4 sides. Who are they advertising to?

Good question. It's just the thing you do including sign blocking other tenants from buying the rights.
