I mean, when Cameron Kroetsch wants to go on a twitter tirade claiming that this development is bad for students, how is this topic not relevant? He needs to be called out wherever necessary.

Ok I will only rag on Kroetsch when it’s warranted and won’t go out of my way to bring him up.

I was in the area for my second walk two days ago, and got a few pictures of this big guy. It's looking good!

I love the impact this is making from street level and skyline. Those gold panels are really neat too!

This one really has a big city street presence for sure.

Would Mac consider move in on the first 10 floors or so and then finish the remaining structure bearing in mind a Sept scheduled move in. It seems the King street side is getting a full court press at ground level.

I believe that's the plan. They are planning for at least some form of partial occupancy, if not full occupancy, by September.

I'm sure finishing touches will be happening into the fall, but I think they are pushing to have students in here by then.

Nice photo, it's coming along well.

I wonder when something will happen to that parking lot at the bottom of your photo. It's a lot of land.

Two things i'm excited for with this project.

1) The increase in residents in this area. There's going to be literally 1000 students coming and going out of that building all the time. That's going to make this stretch of King quite vibrant.
2) This building will likely have full time security, as most residences do. I think that's going to make this an unattractive intersection for the riff raff that is currently there.

It has 639 student beds. A big boost for sure, but not quite 1,000 residents here.

Regarding security - good luck, private security won't care what's happening outside of the building, they will just make sure people aren't trying to enter the building itself.. what happens on the public sidewalk outside is not their problem and indeed private security can't do anything about it anyway.

Regardless, let's hope for a "cleaner" Bay/King.
