I think Mac probably has enough clout to get past NIMBYs?
|
I like the choice of colours. It'll blend in well with the rest of the buildings, especially the Homewood Suites building, similar concept.
I bet the top floor is all conference/boardrooms based on the windows. |

Yeah, the BYs of the NIMBYs aren't anywhere nearby.
Will definitely create more demand for an LRT stop at Bay. The only thing I don't care for is the huge garage fronting King. Can't there at least be street level retail/commercial units built into it? |
I walk past here every day- YES PLEASE!
|
Yes!!! This parking lot is one of the main ones that's really quite prominent......good to see more student residences going up :)
The design looks fine, not incredible but overall not bad. What reality brings us will be interesting. |
This block is going to be pretty dense with the 4 vranich towers now this one. I like it.
|
I think it looks great.

I would also like to note that the space between the building and the trees on King look a bit tight. I really think King could use a slightly wider sidewalk, along with Main street as well. The current puny sidewalks are not going to cut it as the downtown becomes busier. That entire block is likely to be developed, behind this proposal and beside it where the crummy old car dealership was. That is going to be a whole lot more people walking around.
I am always curious as well. Is there a proposed timeline on this development assuming it gets approved? Or has it not even been submitted yet. |
Wow. Absolutely amazing and a great location for it.
|
Ryerson buying every available property they could get their hands on in Toronto did wonders for their downtown, lets hope the same happens here in Hamilton with Mac.
|
Nice.
That parking garage is pretty gross, though. |
Looks good. Agreed on needing retail in the garage.
Wonder what is going on for the Bay Street frontage? The current lot has quite a bit of frontage and this doesn't seem to be using it all. I would love to see a site plan. |
So I’m guessing that is public parking in that new lot. It couldn’t all be for the residents. Could it? Also, agree about the sidewalks. Around the corner in front of Bella Tower is far too narrow and gets taken up by cars picking up and dropping people off. Main st is a mess anyway but still. An LRT station at King/Bay makes sense. Overall this project looks great. Excited to see more details.

Looking great, hope hey get speedy approval and perhaps work with Vranich on the western part of the site and have an integrated approach for the block along King. why not tuck the parking garage South of the tower and free up the western portion to be combined with Vranich. The southern portion fronting onto George looks to be a leftover in any event , not so easy to put anything substantial. Could still access via King Street.
|
Would also be super cool if Mac proposed a twin on the South East corner . Hard to deny that this would be the highest density, highest employee node along the LRT that did not have a LRT stop.
Ps too funny just noticed the LRT on render , think it is looking for a stop. |
