There is a new Starbucks that has since opened over in Stratford by the Sobeys. This one seems to be busy when I am over that way.

To be honest I hit the Stratford Starbys almost every eve and compared to town it is very fast to get through and never much of a line compared to town. It's great. Gonna try Mezza this eve

Do answer your question: 2 full locations in Charlottetown CA, 1 location in Superstore.

One "moved" to Queen St from Great George to take advantage of tourist and business traffic. Then Covid hit and they had to close it as it went from busy to zilch. It'll never return until the downtown comes alive again, but don't hold your breath.
Certainly moving it out to the mall area was a great idea because it's busy all the time. The Superstore one always has people at the counter so it's busy too. Nice to see Stratford opening up one. I suspect it will do ok.

Interesting video of how NIMBYs weaponize historic districts. I post this because that’s what people have done in the 500 lot area of Charlottetown.

The Stratford location seems to be doing very well. It’s the perfect market, higher income brackets to support more expensive drinks.

Overall, I think Stratford is an excellent market for businesses to open in.

Well your right! After Covid destroyed the cubicle, workers haven't returned downtown. Now it's dead because NIMBYS squashed any new development to allow living spaces for new people which would have countered the mass exodus of workers. Now businesses are paying for it big time. I guess tourist season is coming with its cruise ships and that'll make it better......at least for one season.

The mall addition to the side of Dollarama is well underway. The apartments above are in the process of being transformed
to accommodate business office space.

I knew it'd never go anywhere's, but it would be great in Summerside! It would bring alot of people to the city-centre, and bring new life to the area. it would also allow for new housing, and it'd overall just make the city nicer. Sorta a shame it wouldn't ever actually happen.

I mean it’s a vision for 2045, which is still 20 years away. A lot can happen in 20 years. I think we’ll see elements of it built throughout the years.

Got word from a reliable source about some road projects in Ch'town and Stratford.

The two roundabout going in at the bridge by the Tim's and Wendy's might not happen anymore as there was projections that were ran and it looks as there would be too much traffic going through the area for the roundabout to work. They will still move Water. St away from the Riverside Dr intersection for the event grounds.

In Stratford, they are proposing to add a second left turning lane onto Bunbury Rd from the TCH and will add traffic lights, The lights will only be for driving turning left onto Bunbury or going straight towards Ch'town. Drivers going into Stratford will not have to stop. Further in at the intersection with the McEsso, the left turning lane will be a straight lane and no left turning will be allowed. It will be setup for two straight lane and one lane being right turning only onto Stratford Rd.

Lastly on Bunbury Rd, a roundabout is being proposed just passed the No-frills where the mechanical shop is.

Timeframe if these project happen would be in the next 5 years.

I would really like to know what they are doing with the old Irwin Printing building they tore down a few weeks ago on Richmond St right down by VP. The lot is gated off and all leveled out.

Interesting. When I was a small boy in the 1960s, I used to sell newspapers for the Journal-Pioneer on street corners, and this is the building I would pick up my papers at.

Are you anticipating a larger apartment/condo building?

Heritage Board is reviewing a plan today for 15 Richmond, former Irwin Printing. Here’s the meeting package, this project is around Page 17: https://www.charlottetown.ca/common/page...jrmw3IK9lo9eDgPcQh6loKgEKHV%2bZHIkWp0%3d

Sounds like they want 30/31 units at 15 Richmond, but need driveway access from western property to an underground lot located under a new build at 15 Richmond. City staff are recommending this plan be denied.
