It is, according to the map in the Council package. No tower heights, but the two midrise buildings are 6-storey. There was a 2017 Rezoning #17-15 for C1 and C2. and this must replace that proposal.

Looks like Azure 1 is being topped off. Already on the 30th floor

It's fully topped out now with a very prominent elevator overrun. From the renders there won't be much masking it unfortunately.

Azure 1 topped out, Azure 2 has 10 storeys to go, Icon is above ground. At the Gateway 1&2 section there is still not much going on.
I just noticed there is a fifth crane on site (north of Icon), looking back at photos it's been there since at least September. It looks to be at the G8-9 'Encore' area.

A few quick photos in dying light.

Photos by me.

Here's the current state of rezonings from what I can gather, they don't make it easy. Sourced from here https://www.burnaby.ca/services-and-...pment-projects and referencing council minutes. I believe all other rezonings on the city's list and not here are abandoned/defunct and replaced under a new application.

REZ #17-07
Gateway 6 'Kadence'
6 storey non-market.
Second Reading Dec 2, 2019

REZ #20-03
Gateway 1 & 2
41 storey market tower and 37 storey non-market tower, both with 6 storey podiums; 421 market and 505 non-market units total.
Second Reading Dec 7, 2020

REZ #21-01
Gateway 5 'Ovation'
50 storey strata w/ 6 storey podium. Building permit requires #20-03 to pass final adoption due to non-market density (80 units).
Initial Report Feb 8 2021

REZ #22-31
Courtyard 1 'Jade', 2, 3, 4 (suspected by configuration, not confirmed)
Two high-rise strata w/ podiums, one low rise strata, one low-rise non-market rental.
Initial Report Dec 5, 2022

Thanks!

At this time, the subject proposal is no longer feasible. ... In addition, it should be noted that at a future date, a report will be advanced that provides considerations for the future sale/lease of the subject City ownedproperties for housing purposes.
The required inclusionary housing will be pursued with development of the remaining Southgate Lands, following an amendment to the Master Plan to accommodate the additional rental housing and corresponding offset density.
The lot will be removed from Southgate City entirely and Burnaby will sell or lease it separately.

Does anyone know the relationship between Ledmac and Marcon? It seems like Marcon builds all of Ledmac's buildings

Hard to find renderings for Icon, but found some on Marcon's website:

Southgate City - Icon Tower Project
The Icon Tower Project is a 46-story concrete residential building located above three levels of below-grade parking, concealed by a notable water feature and expansive green park space. The main entry lobby will span over levels 1 and 2. Levels 2 to 46 will consist of 352 market residential units, with an amenity room, Yoga/ multipurpose room, fitness facility, several guest suites, work/ study/ area, and mechanical penthouse above level 46.

Looking forward to it, guessing this may be over 150m? If it is and you can release an official height it can be added to the list!

It's 46 floors with no podium, I think this is most likely under 150m.
