When it was rezoned it showed one 14 storey and two 8 storey buildings. We don’t have any outright confirmation they are going ahead with that. I’m gonna guess sometime closer to the time construction begins we will see a render.

Thanks. I thought I seen the latest renderings had 4 buildings. I can’t remember where I’ve seen it. It also had the same number of units.

As of now the only “render” we have is 3 big blocks. That’s literally it. You wouldn’t have to go too far back in the thread to find them.

Now that's an interesting idea. Saint John to Bangor is 140 miles as the crow flies. Brownville Junction is only 40 miles north of Bangor with an existing CPR line from Brownville Jct through Bangor to Searsport. That would allow both passenger and freight quick access.

I suspect Amtrak is looking at the CSX line to access Bangor. That CSX line continues up to Mattawamkeag, Me. and ends where it connects to the EMRY/NBSR. That is NBSR's access to CSX. That's a solution that could be implemented almost immediately if they upgraded the track which both CSX and NBSR should be doing. I know CSX has promised track upgrades as part of their purchase of Pan Am Rail.

A better option would be a new line direct from Bangor to Saint John, but that will be more long term thinking. CSX has stated one of their reasons for purchasing PAR was to gain direct access to Saint John through NBSR so....

The transportation minister has shared online he will be in Montreal tomorrow for a rail announcement for the Quebec City to Toronto corridor.

He must be making the announcement virtually to the chamber assuming the event is still on with the predicted snow fall.

Wayne Long said the transport minister will be in the city. And the event is 2 weeks away on Tuesday February 28th.

IDK if I have permission to share the plans, but when Cunningham Excavation acquired the Manawagonish/Wild Fox Dr property where they are building a 24-unit to some opposition, they also acquired 3 other parcels where plans look a little more appealing to current residents:

-a parcel at the east end of private Bent Anchor Court, where 4 garden homes/townhouses are planned
-a parcel at the corner of Wild Fox and the future north end of Jennifer, 6 garden houses/town homes planned across from the current Wild Fox garden homes
-a larger parcel east of the future north end of Jennifer, where three SFHs and a possible extension of Wild Fox to the west is planned

All in all 13 units, which would complete build-out of the serviced portion of this subdivision. Apparently, the soils south of it would make new construction there complicated.

If I am not mistaken, part of the 24-unit's approval involves a new sidewalk from it to Day St.

The new windows going into Saint John High are a real enhancement to the look of uptown because it’s so prominent on the skyline. Also, the port cranes make you realize the dock isn’t a continuous straight line from current dock, the cranes are turned more facing Market Square direction. Definitely adds character to city IMO

Different developer. Their post says it’s been 2 years in the making.

They’re on a roll. This a 24 unit like first one or 30 unit like second one?

I’m pretty sure it’s a 24. I wonder if they’ll move onto the next building immediately.
