It was a strange one. Many Councillors on the committee claim that they believe in pedestrians streets, all but one delegate spoke in favour of keeping it closed, and the Sparks BIA's arguments to leave it open don't hold water (bad for business? how?). Yet they unanimously voted in favour of opening it. Troster, who was McKenney's candidate for replacement and Devine, who immediately re-Tweeted a Montreal article about the benefits of pedestrianizing streets, are particularly confusing.

Maybe they finally figured out it wasn't a pedestrian street and there were no concrete plants to make it one.
