Not sure what to think of that big pile of dirty snow with cars in it. That’s quite the eyesore… and I suppose it’s meant to be funny, but I don’t really get it? It just strikes me as a bizarre thing to do next to your hotel.

As long as it's not the Sierras proper and near like you said. Jeremy Renner's ranch is in Tahoe and they get pounded with snow. And it almost cost him his life due to him doing his own plowing. He was helping a family member out of the snow and his plow stated rolling back. He tried to jump in but fell and he got run over. He just came out of critical condition.

The northern burbs of Phoenix would be a strategic location. I knew they had ski resorts in Flagstaff but what I didn't know is how close it was to Phoenix. Under 2.5 hours drive to downtown Phoenix. I was there in mid October and it was longsleeve weather in Flagstaff with an alpine type climate and geography. Drove down the mountains and before you knew it you were in the desert and it was 30 something.

Interesting your note about anglers retiring year round in Florida. Myself, I have a summer hobby (Golf) and winter (Skiing) so ultimately for me a place I can split time in the year is awesome. Ideally I’d love to be able to golf all year though…maybe somewhere near the Sierras in California is in my future.

A pretty decent day, mainly due to the absence of precipitation.
Calm, dry and mostly overcast.

Sunday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 6 C, the low was 3 C.

No snow in ~ a month or more.

Snow and -3C in Moncton at 11 AM, going up to -1C this afternoon.

The snow will continue until about 3 AM, with amounts totalling 25 cm or so.

I had to take my BMW X3 to the dealership today for MVI and regular service. It was a 16 km drive across town to the dealership (and another 16 km back), so I was not particularly thrilled about the venture, but the X3 is a 4WD SUV and drives like a snowplow in conditions like this. No problems at all.

EC calling for 10-20 cm's Wed night/Thurs morning for Southern Ontario.

We'll see. So far, Toronto has missed out on most of the winter weather events. Our snowfall total is at 37.8 CM for the season, and usually only sticks around for a few days.

Rainfall warning ended in Halifax. It rained fairly hard and steady all day, with temperature rising to the 8 - 9 C range. Currently it's foggy, and most of the snow from Friday is gone, except areas where it had been piled up from shovelling/plowing.

The rest of the day will be more like some unnamed city on the west side of the country (mild/wet), and then a couple of days of typical Maritime winter: highs of +2 with flurries/sun.

Looks like another day of +10C and rain/wind for Thursday and then finally some near-freezing sunny days for Friday and the weekend.

The easy winter of '22/'23 continues...

Cold Arctic blast coming to Winnipeg and Manitoba later this week , almost made it to February without a real Arctic blast , the mild has been nice but very dull and cloudy , the cold will at least bring a few sunny days in a row !!

Yeah this January has been crazy mild for Manitoba. I wonder how far off normal it will be.

I hope we do get a nice blanket of snow ahead of the sustained freezing temps in the forecast next week. Both EC and TWN calling for 10-15cm on Wednesday
