^The SW corner has a new 'innovation' space that will hopefully be well used. But ya need some outward facing activation as well.

This really is good news.

This is an important, no, critical step forward for Downtown.

Great news indeed, especially with the eventual relocation of CWB staff to their new office tower in the Ice District in a few years.

New standard could help shift Edmonton’s growth pattern
By Mack Male

The city is developing a new measure called the substantial completion standard aimed at supporting the City Plan’s goal of encouraging a market shift from primarily greenfield development to infill. But representatives from the home building and development industries are concerned it could contribute to the affordability crisis in housing.

A policy in the City Plan (2.3.2.3) requires substantial completion of developing areas, defined as those within city limits but primarily outside Anthony Henday Drive, before authorizing the development of future growth areas, defined as land south of 41 Avenue SW.

On Jan. 17, city council’s urban planning committee will receive an update on the development of the substantial completion standard, a component of the Growth Management Framework that administration describes as “one tool to address phasing growth, financial sustainability, and meet planned infrastructure commitments.”

The Clifton website just launched.

Melikey...perhaps one, if not the best, high end residential projects in Edmonton. What a location.

Lovely (maybe too much blank wall facing NE); curious how sales go for this kind of product.

Classy looking tower and I can't imagine those condos would be listed for less than $600k.

So did Edgar change their name to Autograph or is it a new company they created for condos vs. Edgar for rentals?

There was another project just east of this project site that had an amazing and I mean AMAZING concept design done, but didn't go anywhere.

I would have put it up there as the best in Edmonton, if not Alberta.

Alas.

Not the look I would want in an upscale condo. It looks more office than an inviting home .. and lacks pizzaz. The east-side as Cold has commented I agree needs some work. I would hate to look out at a solid wall if that was my view from the neighbouring properties.

I was at Edgar's office and had the pleasure of learning more about this project. That east elevation is going to use a wonderful masonry product from Spain. It will not be a stucco wall. The main lobby looked awesome and is very well done. This project will be best high end building in the City based on what I've seen/heard. Look for pricing to be above $1000/sf.
