Probably just walking by and saw people inside and thought it was open.

.. and from Retail Insider.
Those are magnolia trees - should be nice in the spring when in bloom.

So the sales floor is only slightly larger than the original store.. that's disappointing! Looks like it will be easily crowded.

If slightly applies to double the size, I guess you're right.

Just over 1hr...

Now with an exterior entrance the store could, in theory, more easily be open outside of regular mall hours compared of its previous location.

Other than opening up an hour earlier, that seems doubtful.

Double the size includes the 2nd floor community access area. I was referring to the sales floor specifically.

The article says the store is 3 times the size of the old one.

There are items for sale along the walls upstairs.

It looks like Genius Bar appointments are upstairs as well, along the bench facing out toward the Art Gallery, so that frees up the space that used to take on the sales floor.

The article says:
The new store is considerably larger than the former Apple storefront at CF Pacific Centre which opened in 2010 and spanned just under 5,400 square feet on one level within the mall. The new two-level location is more than double the size with a report in Daily Hive saying that the store spans about 14,000 square feet.

With a lot of space taken up by the staircase and I'm sure a lot larger backroom space, the main sales floor is not a lot larger than the old store.

FYI - the Fifth Avenue flagship in NYC is 77.000 square feet.

Still a very nice looking building though.

Ron.

For all the many pages of discussion, pictures posted, waiting, etc has anyone actually been in the new store? (I haven't had a chance yet)

The highlight is the stairway going up from the mall. Other than that, it's an apple store with a HUGE fantastic window.
They also have a $17K computer for sale paired with a $5K monitor.

So now with the apple project done - it is stunning at night, a great addition to the area, when will work actually resume on the hotel? Understand the issues related to covid and now with a looming economic decline, could this project be put on hold indefinitely (as it seems it already is?).

And the Development Permit was only approved six months ago with quite a few conditions that needed details being redesigned and approved, and then a building permit being submitted and approved.

CF mismanagement of this project is reaching Keystone Cops level, Four Seasons must just be smiling at the poetic justice of how it has all played out.

It would have been easy to toss it to another hotel operator as-is. Seems smarter to do the full renovation.

Do you have firsthand knowledge of significant mismanagement? If so, I'd be interested to know what you are speaking of.

They're like kids who haven't learned the complexities of life, for whom waiting initiates a pouting tantrum. The silliest part is that this has no effect whatsoever on their lives.

I mean the Keystone Cops reference suggests that they're ancient like everyone else on this forum.
