That green wall looks great lit up! The trees on the side with the up lighting are nice too. Really don't like that mural though. Good thing it'll be coming down soon. Can't wait to see it lit up from the inside.

You'd think they'd pay the City to replace one of the lampposts to have them the same.
The left one supports trolley bus wires, right is just standard.

Maybe they temporarily took them down while they were doing crane work there? The wires were up in June. Can also see them in October photos. There's just a green clamp that attaches to the pole so it's probably easy to temporarily remove. You can see it in older photos with those plastic warning flags attached to the wires.

How is the hotel coming along? Any chance it’ll be ready for the 2023 tourism season?

That seems unlikely. It was approved by the City in June, but there's no sign yet of any work to remove the existing cladding and replace it, and presumably norhing much would be done inside until that's complete. It seems more likely to be 2024 at the earliest.

When I threw out 2022-2023 in 2020 LeftCoaster said longer than that so.. somewhere around 2024-2025 seems like a good bet

finally a nice apple store; cant wait to check it out once the initial surge of people wears off.

security guards are needed everywhere these days downtown, and in the area north of W 12th Ave. that's why BIA's are hiring them. even the Kerrisdale BIA has security guards that go around, including at night.

Yeah, I was down there this morning, and I didn't go in because (ironically)...there were so many Apple staff hanging around the doors that I knew I would get mobbed within seconds of entering.

Yikes...too many questions. I just want to browse thanks.

Finally! Looks pretty spiffy, with the green wall, the angle, and the clean-cut design. At the very heart of downtown, too.

Were you part of the press, or invitee's that got a pass to enter before the store opened?
