I wonder how noisy it is in the offices if someone runs across there.

At the Harbour Air terminal in Coal Harbour they recently removed the glass flooring and replaced it with regular cement walkways. It was constantly cracked and covered with salt and sand during the winters I guess they finally smarted up.

I find Vancouver has a hard time realizing that it's situated in a rain forest, and not Southern California.

The lights are up in their street trees - and all on so far.
Barricade up around the glass floor as usual.
They should just place rubber mats on them during the winter.

Pic by me last week:

Why not just ask to put raised skylights in? They are blocked off so frequently its not like it would be impeding pedestrians any more plus they're on their property anyway. Does anyone know if there have been leakage issues to the office space below?

That was almost 7 years ago. I saw it once but never again.

I think it was just cleaning.

Here are a couple of older posts of mine showing the annual snow and ice hazards.

I almost got hit as I moved under the canopy to take that first pic.

Just poor design.
Even for rain, it doesn't have gutters and water pours off the edge.
As for the slippery glass, you'd think they would be obligated to keep the plaza accessible as a privately owned public space. I wonder what thie development permit said about that? They closed off the alley to create that plaza (though the glass is not in line with the alley RoW).
All they need to do is place rubber mats over the glass in winter like that slippery glass-floored bridge in Bilbao, Spain - then it would be accessible. Likewise for the glass floor leading to the elevator.
...and if they don't because they want to maintain the skylights to the architects' offices below, they must have lighting for nighttime, so what's the difference? It would also be a reminder of their poor design.

Strangely, the barricades were removed yesterday despite water on the glass.

Was driving down Seymour a couple days ago and thought I had driven back in time. I can't believe it is back, what a legend!

They have a lot of heavy lift needs apparently. It doesn't look related to any data centre expansion plans they toyed with when Telus Garden was built?

This BCUC application from Fortis/Telus when they built the heat recovery system has a lot of old info on the rezoning/schematics

The new crane was in operation today, with the sidewalk closed temporarily. They were lifting some very chunky welded steel frames onto the top of the building. It was impossible to tell exactly what they were for, but they looked like they might be for a structural addition.
