Looks like Air Transat Summer 2023 schedule is 7x weekly flights on between Montreal YUL & Calgary YYC on Airbus A321

While the Toronto YYZ remains suspended.

YQB was reduced to 3x weekly and YOW was reduced to 2x daily. Otherwise (so far) all domestic is going back to the pre pandemic schedule as well. of course all of this could change.

Yep & looks like Air Canada is cutting Calgary YYC - Phoenix PHX on January 15 2023.

Not surprised by it as will make Lynx Air happy,as they are starting 3x weekly flights mid February 2023 to Phoenix & will capture some of YYC-PHX demand.

I was looking at Lynx's schedule and LAX goes to 6x weekly in early May, wow. LAS goes daily in early April and PHX goes 5x weekly in April as well. They're making other frequency changes as well but it looks like a work in progress (frequencies are a little wonky after May)

Well they are finally starting to fly at least, every time I am at the airport it seems they have 2-3 planes parked on the ramp or their hanger. I really don't understand how they operate like that, I would be very curious to know what their aircraft utilization per day is, must be low.

I hope they have the capital to deal with the burn. I think they are structuring ops to not get into delay situations like Flair does. Friends flying it to and from YVR have been impressed by the reliability and the last minute fares.

WS filed its initial W23 schedule and it looks like CDG might be finally going year-round. Also LAX shows up to 3x daily? No AMS scheduled as of yet.

Side note:
AC has HNL scheduled from early November, 2x weekly next winter. While OGG from December? Curious if this could push WS to resume it earlier too.

@Acey, what's the load factor on YYC-PHX for AC? This is one of YYC's highest O&D routes trans-border, with WS running 3x daily. It should be easy for AC to fill this plane in winter yet it's cut. I could see Lynx tanking yields, but they aren't launching till February and this cut is effective end of year.

I should clarify I can't say for certain the slots they have aren't permanent. But the flights not being in the placeholder schedule certainly implies they are not (but we are talking about a schedule a year down the road - so lot's will change.)

As for loads, today's outbound flight looks rather empty (at least based on the seat map) but tomorrow's inbound looks pretty full.

I'd say its probably doing about as well as it could given its winter and they opened bookings like 2 months out.

The slots may well have been permanent. Many of these European airports split the year in two. You have winter slots and different allocation for summer. Perhaps the new allocation of slots for summer have not been announced yet. Lets hope they get at least one slot pair. Perhaps two if they want to add YVR in summer.

That is referring to next winter, not in the summer. They extended their schedule to April 2024 and AMS is currently not scheduled. Whereas LHR and even CDG are. But then again, this is a schedule 12 months out that is very likely to change.

Not stellar, but 7M8 seems like the wrong equipment based on LF.

There's a couple AC transborders that seem to fall into this category, but RJ are not readily available at the moment and apparently the 220 isn't either.

WS is running 737, 738, 7M8s. It has 3x daily to PHX. Is WS just taking most of the traffic?

Well yes, WS handily beats AC to PHX and LAS. This is not news.

Not certain if it was just days I was searching. Last week I booked YYJ-LAS (via YYC). WS and Calgary was about half the price of AC and the timing of connection in YVR was not great either.

That is for a trip going down for CES in January. Pre-covid I would regularly go down for that show. Usually hard to find seats. Both AC and WS LAS flights out of Vancouver in years past have lost of connecting passengers from Asia leading up to CES and coming back at the end of the show.

I find usually AC and WS are very close in pricing. This trip WS had far more aggressive pricing.

WS trial running dual-boarding the 787 at YYC international gates. The new terminal of course has had this capability on all gates since day 1, but no airline has taken advantage of it.
