From the article above:

"A number of supertall skyscrapers have recently been announced in Austin, many vying for the title of Texas' tallest building."

Do they know something we don't or are they just extending the meaning of 2 to mean several?

I had a buddy who lived in a condo taking up the top two floors of the rounded glass part in the middle. It was a pretty sweet place.

We’d need five or six of these to match the visual impression left by Houston’s peak height and bulk. It isn’t only about height, but also bulk and heft, lack of gaps, and multiple skylines. Houston wins on all counts.
See, I actually don't care much about having a primary dense cluster. FWIW, I think we will, eventually, but I actually like our loose tower topography. Our capitol view corridors will continue affecting our urban landscape in really unusual ways, giving it a graduated, visually-interesting look that none of these other cities will have. Keep Austin Weird.

I agree 100%, I'm not a fan of Houston or it's layout. I think Austin looks more interesting in how the skyline is shaped. Just wait a couple more years and we'll see a very impressive skyline.

I'm also not a fan of capitol view corridors, and would definitely vote to abolish them if a proposal was put on the ballot.

I think a lot of the people who say they like them have simply stockholm-syndromed their way into liking them.
