Lets say that right now, 1 million homes and 1 million apartments came up for sale across Canada
In addition to what currently is available. What would happen?
The same thing if The USA flooded the Canadian milk market with cheaper milk.
Prices would drop.
That is what I mean.
How do we flood the market with housing?
We put all planned subdivisions up for sale for land only, and you list each piece at a low price. You make it easy for building permits to be issued, and you make them cheap - $100 instead of the thousands.
What you would then find is that people will either build their own, buy kit homes(which do exist - Beaver Homes), or get a prefab one. All of a sudden housing becomes much cheaper.
