I understand why you're always in defensive mode but, I'm not one that has ever posted that a design I like in Mississauga should be on Toronto's waterfront (e.g. M City on urbantoronto) or that a mediocre design on Toronto's waterfront should be in Mississauga. (e. g. Lakeside Residence on urbantoronto)

As for bias, I won't deny it but, you're the last person that should be pointing it out. You put Mississauga development on a supertall pedestal. I'm not a fan of cheap expressive architecture over decent simplicity (not to say there isn't cheapness in that area as well) which, more often than not, is the direction taken in Mississauga

Toronto has built residential towers to the level of finishes in the rendering. Mississauga hasn't yet. That's my biggest concern here. I also want staircases avoided at all costs whether its Toronto, Vaughan, Mississauga, Calgary, etc. I don't keep track of gradients in the GTA . For the most part, staircases on large sites can be avoided by staggering the ground floor. I have bad knees so it's very personal

lastly, it's still a big block development with a quadruplet on the perimeter. I've never been for those. The interior has potential it's highly dependent on through traffic for it use by the public.

If these three 40s+ towers are built along with everything else proposed for the Hammer... the city might eventually take aim at (whatever) Edmonton's skyline ranking from the ssp list-makers.

most of the proposals in Hamilton are fairly short, due to the height limit. Generally 27-30 storeys and 90-100m in height. This one is an exception, the previous iteration which was 44 storeys was 180 metres in height apparently, so this one may be pushing 200 metres.

A comparison would Humber Bay Shores to Downtown Toronto. Eau de Soleil doesn't add to the downtown skyline. This is possibly closer Grimsby which, itself, is a contender for best small city skyline in 25 years.

Look at the scale of the parking podium facing the QEW!

The parking podium looks to be primarily 6-storeys, which is generally fine.. though they have a large 8-9 storey wing between the two towers, likely to block noise from the QEW.

Indeed. it makes sense to take advantage of the highway and likely high water table and put parking in an above ground structure there. 1600 units needs a lot spaces. It's still massive.

Montreal Holocaust Museum reveals design

The Montreal Holocaust Museum (MHM) is proud to reveal the architectural design of its new downtown Museum, opening in 2025 at 3535 Blvd. St-Laurent. Created by KPMB Architects + Daoust Lestage Lizotte SteckerArchitecture, the winning design was selected following an international architectural competition.

Based on the pillars of memory, education, and community, the new building will contain multiple exhibition spaces, classrooms, an auditorium, a memorial garden, and a dedicated survivor testimony room. Construction on the new Museum will begin in the fall of 2023.

This comment was interesting so I had to verify. It's far enough into Stoney Creek that it's very nearly further east than the Mississauga builds.

Hate to break Hammer's bubble but.................it will not be the tallest between Toronto and Edmonton as London will take that prize with it's twin proposal of a 53 & 42 story buildings.

London's I think will have a better chance of getting built as it's not on a service road beside the QEW in the suburbs but right downtown overlooking the Thames and beautiful parks and river valley on one side and the entire downtown skyline on the other.
