Excellent news about the
Flatiron Building.
I thought I saw some activity around the site the other day.
The Flatiron is easily one of the quirkiest and most iconic (if small) buildings in the downtown core. It gives me great joy to see that it is being saved.
The proponent had also been interested in the
Subway Block next door, but I have heard nothing new regarding this building in the last several months. I hope he is able to purchase this building too, and renovate and repurpose this as well.
If both of these buildings can be saved, this would fill a
massive hole in the middle of our downtown core, right next to the walkway under the CNR subway. The changes to the character and appeal of the core would be huge, and would connect the downtown east and west ends in a truly seamless manner.
