Great pics Metro, I agree. Somebody mentioned on another thread that they thought the Interior or Trail or perhaps they were thinking of Kelowna, looked like Hobart, Tasmania and I never thought of it before but they do look similar.

Just imagine how much better that view will look once the Cogswell interchange redevelopment is finished. When I went through there a couple days ago the project was well underway.

The more I see Halifax the more I need to visit it. I just got a job offer at a studio there on Friday but had to turn it down. Wishing that I was able to. Great shot, so much urbanity packed into a small space.

Halifax is looking great. I just wish there was maybe just one or two towers that peak through that tabletop... I think some height restrictions go a little too far.

I could see that. Based on what I'm seeing Hobart sort of looks like equal parts Kelowna, Kamloops, and Victoria (with the old parts being surprisingly Nordic/Baltic-looking). Hobart also has a prominent bridge that looks a lot like Kelowna's.

Scotia Square seems like a good candidate for things like outline strip lighting or huge murals or projection mapping on the blank walls. It's one of those cases where the company that owns the complex doesn't have much incentive to do those things because they don't have trouble leasing out all of the space no matter how ugly/plain it looks from the outside. Hopefully the architects for the Cogswell redevelopment projects will find a way to tie things all together visually. I find a lot of recent developments have done a good job of that.

I actually wish there had been more of an effort to restore and enhance Scotia Square's original 1960s styling and keep it as a sort of period piece like PVM, but all of the new additions just look like leftover parts from the Nova Centre and are nice in isolation but make the overall complex look worse.

After the Cogswell redevelopment and the new buildings that will be added on the land, Scotia will barely even be visible from many angles. While not great at street level (although much improved with the recent ground-floor addition), it's a non-issue from a distance.
